Review: Taken at Dusk (Shadow Falls #3)

Title: Taken at Dusk (Shadow Falls #3)
Author: C.C. Hunter
Rating: 4 of 5 stars

Goodreads Summary:

Step into Shadow Falls, a camp for teens with supernatural powers.  Here friendship thrives, love takes you by surprise, and our hearts possess the greatest magic of all.

Kylie Galen wants the truth so badly she can taste it. The truth about who her real family is, the truth about which boy she’s meant to be with—and the truth about what her emerging powers mean.  But she’s about to discover that some secrets can change your life forever…and not always for the better.

Just when she and Lucas are finally getting close, she learns that his pack has forbidden them from being together.  Was it a mistake to pick him over Derek? And it’s not just romance troubling Kylie. An amnesia-stricken ghost is haunting her, delivering the frightful warning, someone lives and someone dies. As Kylie races to unravel the mystery and protect those she loves, she finally unlocks the truth about her supernatural identity, which is far different—and more astonishing—than she ever imagined.

My Review:

Still love this series and continues to be one of my favorites. I think because I enjoy the fact that there are so many different 'kinds' of people in these books. I also love all the second characters just as much as the main characters. There's plenty of action and a good amount of romance to keep everyone interested.

Kylie continues to be a strong character. I'm sad because her romance issues make me sad. Lucas is there throughout most of the novel but it makes sense because Derek was in the last one more. I have to say that this is one series where I'm still kind of stumped as to who she will pick. Usually it's pretty obvious. Not so much here because Kylie is like a pro at changing her mind AND hiding her feelings. Dangerous combo. Even though I lean more towards Derek, I have to say I'd be ok with either! I've learned to love them both so far. Hunter seems good at making you like who she wants you to and right now she's definitely wanting us to like both!

I have to say that I completely feel in love with Perry in this book. He is taking my love for shape shifters to a whole new level.

The evil in this book stumps me a little, but I think that's because Kylie hasn't even figured it all out herself yet. I think it because I really didn't see everything that was coming in this book. Some surprises are thrown in and I have to say they were entertaining.

I can't wait for the next. I just love these books!!
